A great story enables your prospects and team to hear real world experiences from real people. You want to give people a reason to believe what you believe. Facts Tell, Stories Sell
In most cases, salesmen tell nuts-and-bolts stories about the uses and benefits of the products or services they sell. Network Marketers tell a different type of story. They talk about themselves, their lives, their families, and their goals, dreams and aspirations. When you share with a prospect, you’re trying to sell that person on the fact that they should follow in your footsteps. Your personal story is critical in inspiring them to follow you.
That’s why it’s crucial to your ongoing business success that you learn the proper way to tell your 2-minute story, so that people will identify with you and respond with, “He/She is like me” or, “They really have these types of people doing this” or, “If he/she can do it, so can I.” In other words, your goal should be to have people say, “Me too!” rather than, “So what!” But keep in mind that the purpose of your 2-minute story is not to ramble, share philosophy, train or give an acceptance speech.
So, what are the key points to remember when telling your 2-minute story?
Who Are You?
The first step in sharing your 2-minute story is to give your name. Introduce yourself in a way that’s friendly and warm, and remember to smile. It’ll set the tone for what you say next and show confidence. Next, explain your background, including your occupation and what you like and dislike about it (i.e. if you have a job, mention the stress, no time for family and friends, no advancement opportunities, living paycheck to paycheck, credit card debt, no savings, etc. If you own your own business, mention headaches like long hours, employees, overhead, insurance, cash flow, etc.) Share your dreams and goals that you hoped would have been realized through that occupation.
Before & After
Now that you’ve introduced yourself, what you do and your background, don’t forget to tie it all together. Whether your before and after story is one of lifestyle transformation or physical transformation, it’s important to use your 2-minute story to paint the picture of life before LIMU and life after LIMU. Has LIMU helped you look better, live better or feel better? Tell them about it!
Share the fears and skepticism you experienced when first being introduced to Network Marketing and how your family and friends were skeptical about it. Explain what you did to put your mind at ease by discovering what LIMU is really about through solid facts that were readily available to you.
Point out what personal goals you’ve already achieved since joining the company, or if you’re still new, which personal goals you’re currently working toward. They may be goals that others can relate to (family vacations, more time at home, buying a new house, etc.) and will likely resonate with their own motivations for joining LIMU. Others likely share the same problems and want the same solutions, so your goals become an attractive example when they see how LIMU has helped you reach them.

Your ‘Why’ is different from your 2-minute story, but understanding what it is will help you tell a better 2-minute story.
Your ‘Why’ is your daily motivation. It’s your burning desire. It’s what gets you up in the morning; it’s the reason you “pound the rock” day in and day out. Maybe your ‘Why’ is to give your children a better life than you had. Maybe you’d like to live a debt-free life. Whatever your ‘Why’ is, it needs to inspire massive action. Especially within your story.

Avoid Medical Claims
Sure, you can share that LIMU has helped you feel better and look better, and it’s totally fine to talk about how you have more energy or have lost some weight since incorporating LIMU products into your routine—but please make sure to stay clear of any medical claims. This includes any claims that allude to LIMU being a cure for any illness or disease, or a replacement for any medication or health regimen prescribed by a doctor. We know LIMU products have played a huge role in your daily life, but there are compliant ways to describe how LIMU has positively impacted your life.
