What’s the difference between promoting with purpose and promoting without it? The difference is much bigger than you may realize, and it can be the determining factor between success and failure. Self-promotion usually falls flat without context. If you simply create a graphic or social media post and throw it out there, that’s the equivalent of shouting into the darkness in hopes that someone’s listening. Informing is not the same as promoting.
Imagine you’re driving on the highway and see an overturned truck on the side of the road, and it’s overflowing with gold bricks. They’re scattered around the ground and there are thousands of them. The truck is abandoned and you fit as many as you can into your car. What do you do next? Do you post on social or send an email? No! You call your family, friends and loved ones and tell them to get here now and bring a dump truck! You’re frantic with excitement, they hear the passion in your voice and you tell them to “Get here now before someone else does!” Without a doubt, they’ll do everything in their power to be there.
Anyone who’s ever effectively promoted anything realizes that one of the keys to doing so is to create a sense of urgency while emphasizing what they’ll miss if they don’t become involved. The same holds true when building for LIMU events and Experience parties.
You’re a LIMU Promoter, not an informer, so focus on promoting the business and its values with excitement.
People hear your music, not your words. It’s your passion that will get people to events.
• Don’t just publish a LIMUPost.com flyer on social media and expect people to attend an event. Get on the phone and give them a ‘Why’ for attending. Let people hear your excitement.
• Make people understand that this is a can’t-miss event.
• Let them know about any featured guests, top Promoters, upline leaders or corporate staff that will be there to provide support and help grow their teams. Convey that the event is a big deal.
• Give examples of how attending LIMU events can change lives and give them reasons to find out more.
Make people understand what they’ll be losing out on if they don’t join you and how time-sensitive the opportunity is. Get on the phone and tell people the importance of attending that event. Remind them that it’s not because we make money on them coming there. LIMU events are completely FREE. But they also can’t afford to miss it. Why? Because LIMU events are designed to teach you how to make money, and how to grow your business. But you have to be there to do it. Events and building for events are critical.
