LIMU sincerely believes in passionately giving back and each year we support the global generosity movement with our ongoing LIMU Gives charitable initiative. From the beginning, LIMU has always aimed to help others and make an impact with a number of philanthropic organizations in our community through LIMU Gives.
Here are ten simple and sweet ways you can also give back this holiday season:
1. Volunteer Your Time
— LIMU® (@LIMU) November 25, 2015
You can always give back with one of the most valuable things around — Time. Consider volunteering your time locally to help those in need. Charities can’t to do the work they do without the help of volunteers. Whether your passion is feeding and clothing the homeless, teaching children, caring for the sick and elderly, cleaning up the environment, there are charities right in your area looking for volunteers to help serve their cause.
2. Clean Out Your Closet
Go through your closet and pull out clothes you haven’t worn in a while. It may be hard to part with your favorite sweater, but if you haven’t worn it in a year, think of how it might benefit someone else in need.
3. Donate at the Register
Most grocery and retail stores give customers an opportunity to make an easy donation to charities at the register (You can also donate during checkout with most online purchases!). Over time, small donations from multiple people add up and can make a big difference in people’s lives.
4. Smile with Amazon
If you’re budget is tight; you can still donate without spending any extra money. AmazonSmile is a simple automatic way to support your favorite charity every time you shop, at no cost to you. When you shop at smile.amazon.com, a portion of the purchase price is donated to almost any charity when you choose from nearly one million organizations!
5. Donate to Food Banks
— LIMU® (@LIMU) March 22, 2016
Chances are, you have extra cans of food in your house right now. Take a look. Now consider donating those cans. First, locate a local food bank, then find out what it needs. Think outside the box: Sometimes food banks are in need of non-edible supplies, like soap and toothbrushes.
6. Send Care Packages to Troops
Don’t forget those who are serving the country away from home this Thanksgiving. LIMU sends free LIMU products year-round to Promoters or immediate family members of Promoters serving abroad on active military duty. Whether it’s a parent, child, spouse, or sibling—LIMU recognizes their service to our country.
7. Invite Someone Over
Know of a lonely family member? A friend far away from home? A student unable to go home for the holidays? Consider offering a seat at your dinner table this Thanksgiving and helping someone feel at home again.
8. Find Time for Four-Legged Friends
Are you an animal lover? Do you adore puppies and kittens? Then consider volunteering with — or donating to — animal shelters. You may even consider adopting a new friendly pet for your family while you’re there.
9. Visit a Hospital
Hospitals don’t take a break for the holidays and neither do patients. Try calling your local hospital to find out if they will accept volunteers for Thanksgiving or Christmas. You can offer to distribute food, bring small gifts to children or elderly, or simply sit and visit with someone.
10. Double Your Donation on #GivingTuesday
On November 28th, LIMU is matching donations to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida. If you’re making financial contributions, don’t miss out on the opportunity to double your impact! The Ronald McDonald House serves as a “home-away-from-home” for families of children facing a serious medical crisis. We encourage everyone to join us in proudly supporting our amazing friends and partners on #GivingTuesday!
